No. Once a course is loaded, GPS works offline. Cellular data is only used the first time you open a course.
Which courses are supported?
Swiing GPS uses a global course database covering most public courses worldwide. If your course is missing, you can request it from inside the app.

Yes. The Swiing GPS companion app for Apple Watch shows yardages straight from your wrist, so you barely need to reach for your phone.
